They look chav. Good if you don't want to be caught by anpr or speed cameras. Bad if police see you a lot.
A lot of people said I'd get pulled with my German style plates. Not had one stop, been followed by a lot of traffic police too. No issues.
Define what you mean by 'german style'?
If you mean pressed plates, then no. They have never been illegal. there is actually no law against what number plates should be made out of.
If you mean German fonts are used, then yes they break the law. As the law states what font the plates should be and the spaces each letter should have between them.
As for tinted ones not showing up on ANPR's. Again, untrue. ANPR camera's are powerful enough to read your reg plate when you speed past at 100mph, a bit of tinting doesn't stop them. What IS illegal with tinting (and the grey area it falls in, no pun intended) is that there is a legal requirement for numberplates to be reflective. There is no defined amount of 'reflective-ness' they need to be though, so it's down to the Police officers discretion. Therefore... it's often just not worth the hassle as that copper who does end up pulling you over will also be the one who wants to have you for your plates.
Yes apparently the law states front and back plates should match.
What you just said sounds so funny! Of course your front and rear plate should 'match' hahahaha
